Led by Fiona henderson from High fibre designs, the aim of this workshop is to learn how to go about designing a garment/accessory from scratch and to gain confidence in altering an existing pattern for a perfect fit. You will need to bring -Two or more tension swatches worked in the yarn and stitch to be used in the project eg. a stocking stitch square, a rib square etc. The exact size of swatch is not critical but please keep a note of needle sizes, number of stitches and number of rows worked. Please also bring along a favourite garment chosen for its shape , fit or size. (This could be an adult or childrens garment.)

This workshop led by Rowan instructor Nichole Wilson aims to give participants the chance to learn the most commonly used techniques which will turn your work from “Home made to Hand made”. Beginning with the basics, such as the best ways
to cast on, achieving an even and correct tension and how to shape knitted fabric.
The workshop also covers picking up stitches around neck, short row shaping,
grafting stitches, button holes and finally sewing up techniques.
